Privacy Policy
CityLabMap does not ask you to create an account and does not store the maps you make on its servers. This page explains what data is handled when you use the site, by whom, and the choices you have.
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Your maps and settings
Points, routes, measurements, cities and tool settings are saved in your own browser (local storage) so they are still there when you come back. They are not sent to or stored on CityLabMap servers. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for citylabmap.com.
When you use Copy link, the map is stored inside the link itself. Anyone you send the link to can see that map, so share it only with people you want to see it.
Services that receive requests
To draw maps and answer searches, your browser connects directly to the services below. Like any website, they receive your IP address and basic browser information, and they handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Mapbox provides map tiles, satellite imagery, terrain, place search and routing. When you search for a place or request directions, the search text or coordinates are sent to Mapbox. Mapbox privacy policy
- Open-Meteo is used to look up the time zone of a point you choose on the map; only the coordinates are sent.
- Content delivery networks (jsDelivr, cdnjs, Google Fonts) deliver code libraries and fonts.
- Your browser's location is used only when you press a "My location" button and allow it. It is used on the page to center the map and is not stored by CityLabMap.
Analytics
We use the 51.la analytics service to count visits and see which pages and tools are used. It uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location derived from the IP address, and time of visit. We use these statistics only in aggregate to improve the site.
Advertising and cookies
CityLabMap may show ads served by Google AdSense to cover the cost of running the site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, and can change that choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools keep working without them.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to fix the issue you reported. We do not sell, rent or share it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you and to object to certain processing.
