Convert a list of coordinates

  1. Paste one coordinate per line — straight from a spreadsheet column, a PDF or an email. Lines can mix formats.
  2. Choose the output format and precision.
  3. Check the points on the map: a point in the wrong country usually means swapped latitude and longitude or a missing minus sign.
  4. Copy the converted column, or copy everything as comma-separated text and paste it into Excel or Google Sheets.

Labels and extra columns

Text before the coordinate becomes a label when it is separated by a tab or a pipe ( | ), for example Head office | 51.5074, -0.1278. Spreadsheet rows copied with tabs keep their first column as the label.

Column order

Leave the order on Auto to read latitude first and switch automatically when the first number is above 90. If your list is in longitude, latitude order (GeoJSON, many GIS exports) choose lon, lat so values near the equator are not misread.

Limits and privacy

Up to 2,000 lines are converted at a time, entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a list of coordinates at once?

Yes. Paste up to 2,000 lines, choose the output format, and copy the results as a column or as comma-separated text for a spreadsheet.

Can the list mix different formats?

Yes. Each line is recognised on its own, so decimal degrees, DMS, UTM and MGRS can be mixed.

How do I convert coordinates in Excel?

Copy the column from Excel, paste it here, then use Copy as CSV and paste the result back into the sheet.
